Thank you for the order and for all the help in bringing my daughter back home. It has been the worst experience of my life and I couldn’t have got there without your professional help. You have been amazing. I will be forever grateful for everything.
How can we help?
At Brighton & Hove Law, we specialise in divorce law and act as a cost effective alternative to large law firms. We offer advice for clients involved in formal divorce proceedings, and prioritise dealing with the matter sensitively to ensure clients feel supported through the process.
The decision to end a marriage is serious, and must be treated as such. Our specialist family solicitors work to alleviate your stress and, under instruction, can receive Court papers on your behalf. We work with you to gather all relevant information and assist in preparing and issuing the petition. Our advice will cover all issues you may need to consider in divorce proceedings, including matters related to finances and children, for example. You must have been married for at least a year and your marriage must have broken down with no possible prospects of reconciliation.
How long will my divorce proceedings take?
Divorce proceedings take between six and nine months, and petitioners cannot apply for their conditional order for at least six months after the petition is issued and these timescales need to be factored into your thinking. Please note this process may take longer if issues regarding finances are not resolved swiftly. Finances may include assets such as the marital home, so can inevitably be a sensitive aspect of such a procedure. We also ask that our clients do not ignore correspondence from their partner’s solicitor or divorce papers they may receive, as this may disrupt the proceedings.
We also offer a fixed fee service in the circumstances that your divorce proceedings are uncontested. Book a 30 minute consultation with us below, or for more information on how we can help:
