Brighton and Hove, and particularly Samantha Barker, come highly recommended. The work that Samantha puts into her client’s case is unbelievable- the preparation and attention to detail is second to none
How can we help?
The law treats cohabitation very differently to the separation of couples who are married or have formed a civil partnership. Unmarried couples have fewer legal protections, so it may be necessary to contact a specialist to outline the law regarding separation in cohabitation.
We can offer our advice regarding issues with finances, which are more complex for unmarried couples and generally rely on land law, to children disputes. It is worth noting there are few differentiations regarding child arrangements in married and unmarried couples.
There are still, however, ways of protecting yourself and we can support you through the process. It is recommended that unmarried couples should consider creating a legally binding cohabitation agreement to make the process of separation easier. If this isn’t possible, we are still able to help you understand the options available to you.
